The Seed
San Giljan
$$-$$$
This restaurant/bar is located within the hotel I stayed at, the Hotel Hyatt Regency. It is accessible to all and is conveniently right across from a shopping mall and close to the beaches. Probably one of the best dishes I had in Malta. The restaurant is extremely busy so be sure to make a reservation in advance.
Cafe Juliani
Coffee Shop
$
Fairly priced, and conveniently located directly across from a bus stop, Cafe Juliani has great food matched with an amazing view of the ocean. With an all you can eat breakfast, you and your travel partner will be set to skip a meal, leaving more time to explore.
Ottimo Cafe
Bakery & Coffee Shop
$
Conveniently located in downtown San Giljan, by the water and a bus stop, this cafe has great hand-made bakery items and desserts. There’s options to sit inside and outside, or to grab items on the go.
Amorino Gelato Al Naturale
Dessert
$
Located right in the middle of Valletta, the gelato was so delicious, I had to go back for seconds. Be sure to try their most known dish, and my favorite, a Belgium waffle drizzled with Nutella, served with 3 scoops of your choice of gelato, and whipped cream.
Ginscal Agave Bar
Bar
$$
Delicious, and unique offering a variety of Agave drinks specific to different regions of Mexico. The outside was definitely what originally captured my attention, with its cute facade and paintings. Once inside, you step directly into the bar’s vibe, with friendly staff and the ability to connect with fellow locals and/or tourists.
Parruccan Confectionery
Bakery
$
An authentic Maltese bakery, located outside of Mdina for many generations. This is the go-to spot if you’re looking for authentic Maltese treats. The staff is extremely friendly, offering samples and selling treats to go back home with you. Make sure to have euros, since they’re cash only.
Tip- Try their famous fig and nuget treats!
Anglo Maltese League
Restaurant
$$
Great spot for an authentic Maltese restaurant and authentic Maltese food. Be sure to ask the staff for any travel tips and for their favorite local spots.
Tip- Monday through Saturday the restaurant has Happy Hour offering half off drinks and the majority of the menu. This is great for a budget traveler or for the traveler looking for cost savings 🙂
Da Pablo Trattoria di Mare
Restaurant
$$-$$$
Authentic Italian food, with plenty of options for those who do not eat seafood (which is hard to come by in Malta since fishing is a major export). This restaurant is located in downtown Valletta by major tourist attractions, making it a convenient stop to recharge your energy.
Sciacca Grill St. Julians
Restaurant
$$
A great authentic Italian restaurant in San Giljan, located by the water and by the major hotel chains. The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful in offering travel tips for Malta. (The staff here was how I found out about the Tallinja bus).

Located in Valletta, this bar has a unique exterior, complementing its comfy interior. Wild Honey is perfect for a night out in the capital for drinks, and for a tasty dinner.
