Ocean Cube NYC: A Mesmerizing Underwater Experience

Where to Purchase Tickets

We had purchased our tickets way in advance, for Ocean Cube, and we even got a discount for being college students. All we had to do was show our university IDs! When the day of our NYC trip came, my friend and I went into the city early to start our adventure. Complying with the exhibit’s rules, we showed up 15 minutes before our ticket time and set up our cameras. Remember to check the rules of the pop-up gallery when you are purchasing tickets, as they all have their own guidelines.

What to Expect

Ocean Cube had a total of 6 different exhibits dedicated to coral, whales, waves, bubbles, fishing nets, and displaying the problems of water bottles contributing to ocean pollution. Although it was a smaller exhibit, there was no time limit on how much time you could spend in the gallery. Additionally, people were encouraged to go through as many times as they wanted to.

When we went to the gallery, only a few people were there which made it easy for us to take as many photos as we wanted and to take our time going through each exhibit. We spent around 1.5 hours just going through the 5 rooms multiple times, and taking as many photos as we could. We were some of the first few to start the photo trend at this pop-up gallery, since it had just opened. Ocean Cube’s gallery was really pretty, displaying the different habitats of the ocean in a beautiful way, as well as bringing awareness to the human-made ecosystem pollution.
