My Experience at Roosevelt Baths and Spa

My friend and I planned our visit during the off-season, which meant that accommodation prices were cheaper and there were no crowds. However, that also meant that the famous Gideon Putnam Resort was closed. We did stay at the Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge, which was only a 10 minute drive to the spa.

We booked our mineral baths, sauna, and Swedish massages in advance and all three services were lovely. I highly recommend arriving atleast 30 minutes early in order to enjoy their Serenity Lounge for some quiet reflection and relaxation before your services start. This is especially important if you’re also doing the sauna because you will need to go into the sauna before your other treatments, and you want to maximize your sauna time as much as you can.

The mineral baths are in separate rooms where you will have your other spa services. There’s an attendant who explains the mineral bath process and will give you water and a warm towel at the end before your next service. You can opt to wear a bathing suit or not, whichever is most comfortable for you. The mineral baths will either be warm or hot depending on the time of year and day, but you can adjust the temperature accordingly.

Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to Roosevelt Baths and Spa and left feeling extremely relaxed. If you’re planning a visit to Saratoga Springs, this must be on your list of things to do!
