Location

The country with “The City of Love…” and so much more. When many people think of France, they think Paris. Paris is filled with beautiful architecture, rich history, delicious food and wine, and the famous Parisian skyline. However, that’s just one city! Each region of France is known for its own wine, cheese, and views. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit various cities in the Cote d’Azur, also known as the French Riviera. Here, you’ll often find Europeans and tourists spending their summers on the Mediterranean coast catching sun rays and enjoying the crystal clear blue water. Languages

French is the official language. In Paris, the majority of the population involved in the tourist industry will speak some English, but beyond Paris you will find less and less English speakers.

For convenient city travel, taxis, the Metro, and buses are readily available, along with the option of walking or using Uber to reach your destinations efficiently.

Safety

In general, France is considered a safe country for travel, even for solo female travelers. However, exercise caution in major tourist areas, particularly in Paris, where incidents of pickpocketing and scams are known to occur. Stay vigilant against individuals asking for money or creating distractions to pickpocket.
