Moldova
A small country with a big heart and delicious wine; a travel guide to Moldova.
Location
As one of the least traveled countries in Europe, Moldova works hard to preserve their traditions and display what it means to be a true Moldovan. Locals will often be surprised to meet foreigners visiting their country, and will be excited to show you around and share about their culture. After living in Moldova for a year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Ungheni, Moldova truly holds a special place in my heart and is a place I encourage people to visit. I hope my travel guide to Moldova and city articles about Moldova inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and to travel to Moldova to experience the warm hospitality of the locals, and cultural experiences yourself.

Transportation
Moldova offers various transportation options, including taxis, trolleybuses, buses, vans, bikes, electric scooters, and walking, ensuring you can conveniently navigate around the country.
Safety
Solo female travelers can generally feel secure exploring during the day, as locals often roam the streets late into the evening. Nonetheless, exercise caution after dark, particularly in bustling cities, and during nightlife outings.
My Favorite Memories
I cherished attending the National Wine Day celebration, immersing myself in the art of winemaking from diverse local vendors, wineries, and homemade wine enthusiasts. Sampling over 30 types of wine added to the unforgettable experience.
Each day brought exciting encounters, as I was warmly invited to local gatherings and dinners, forging instant connections with friendly Moldovans.
Exploring various cities offered a deeper understanding of Moldovan culture and linguistic diversity, providing me with new insights and friendships along the way.
