Since this was my first time visiting Romania, it was a priority for me to eat at a traditional Romanian restaurant. Luckily, I had the benefit to eat home-cooked traditional Romanian food and Palinka while also eating at my host’s recommendation for Romanian food. Below are both my recommendations and my host’s for where to eat and drink in Iasi:

    Salsa

I got this recommendation from one of my classmates in Bucharest and it did not disappoint! If you’re craving spicy or Mexican food, then this is the restaurant to go to. Be sure to try their delicious variety of margaritas and foot-long chicken enchilada.

    Oddity

A modern cocktail bar, perfect for a night out with friends. Order a delicious cocktail and enjoy the ambiance.

    Piano Night Club

Take a step back in time and enjoy a night of classical music while sipping a drink.

    Sotarie

An awesome place to go to for drinks, recommended by locals. Originally an old tailor shop, this now bar honors their tradition and will ask you a variety of taste question sin order to craft the perfect shot for you. This is a must visit!

    La Conac

Enjoy authentic Romanian food in a true Romanian atmosphere. This restaurant is also recommended by locals, so you know it’s good.

    Chinese Restaurant by Li

Conveniently located in the Palas Mall next to the Palace of Culture, this restaurant has rapid service with great food. They accept both card and cash with indoor and outdoor seating.

    Tucano Coffee

The Starbuck’s of Moldova, this chain is located in a variety of Eastern European countries and is known for their delicious coffee and Aztec-American design. Their menu is in English and the majority of their staff speak English.

Exploring the culinary scene in Iasi, Romania offers a delightful adventure. With my guide on ‘Where to Eat in Iasi, Romania,’ you’re all set to savor the city’s culinary treasures. Bon appétit!
