What to Expect in the Czech Republic
Languages
The official language is Czech. English may be spoken in major tourist areas, but I suggest knowing a few common phrases in Czech.
Currency
The official currency is the Czech Koruna, also known as the Czech Crown.
Outlets
Types C and E.
Transportation
Taxis, trains, trains, buses, subways, cars, bikes, electric scooters, and walking are all available to help you get around the main cities.
Safety
As a solo female traveler, I felt safe traveling between cities and walking around throughout the day all on my own. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful with offering tips and guidance around the cities, and curious to meet travelers. As always, exercise caution when traveling by yourself.
My Favorite Memories
Stepping into the famous “Bone Church '' in Kutna Hora with more than 40,000 medieval human bones sculpted into structures and decorating the Sedlec Ossuary.
Trying the famous Chimney Cake in Prague! It was super delicious and almost too sweet for my sweet tooth.
Hiking through the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Park, seeing the filming locations from Narnia and walking across unstable bridges in the mountains.
